twas the nite...

on last 27th of february, i went to my colleges sort of annual nite. the veridct? LAME. with a capital l. make it all caps! everything was wrong. to start it, it was not held at a hotel or at least a restaurant, but the colleges video conferencing room, which was like err cramped for leg space. next, it started late than it was scheduled. way too late. like 2 hours late. after that, there were these annoying hosts, one who kills english, and one who kills manglish. cant decide who was the worst, the guy with the cheesy pick up lines(" that was so sexy...sexy...sexy..." with his man made echos) or the giggling tween (who has an issue with her hair, she keeps flipping it and tucking it back , only to flip it back!) who peepers her sentences with all the 'la's'  in the world.  no one paid attention to them when they began with their opening adress, cause no one realized they have finally started, such star presence, what can i say!
next horror for the evening, was the performance.  it started with a indian classical dance by a guy whom dance as ifhis bladder is going to burst any moment. i thought may be he wasn't trained in in dian classical dance, so imagine my sheer horror when i was informed by my buddy that he is a student of the great ramli ibrahim! and to think she came all the way (and not to mention, convinced me to come)  armed with a camcorder! after that  a hip hop dance, chinese style. despite the boing by the crowd(which was dominated by indian students), the dudes did their stuff and went of smiling. after that an indian dance number by a group of pcd wannabes, who call themselves sunshine. sunshine? it was more like an eclipse! they reminded me of house bunnies from well the movie, house bunny. that included the sole male dancer in their group. end of story.
next it was round after round of singing by these guys who think, with wearing oversized t shirts, caps, a baggy pants with holes and tears , shades plus with overflowing blings blings that will make any indian aunty at a wedding cringe with shame. shades in a room, at nite?  style? i don think so. after dat two international students sang, which was nice , better than those clowns.
now this is wear, the cream of the nites procedings took place. two guys were dancing to sum indian song, from their moves, i guess they were portraying drunkards...and then the light went out. it was not like for a minute or two, you know for quick costume change, but for a solid 15 minutes. i thought the power was cut off, and was ready to leave when ti came back again with the hardy boys dressed like a cowboy. i was in stiches!!!!!! lord forgive me , but they looked ridiculous and i really loughed my heart out!!! my friend had me gagged in order from others stop starring at me. now, im a quiet student at school, so it was like a surprise for them when i went nuts!! kihihkihkihkih. only my class mates whom i talk to knows the real me, otherwise, every one goes into silent mode whenever i pass by. ok comin back to the story, what happened was, the speaker played out on them! it kept stopping and you know indians, any reason to boo or laugh, they go all out! i actually felt sorry for them as despite their sily moves, they had the guts to do it  on stage.  after dat, it was suddenlt brought to our attention that all the persormance s was actually a talent contest!!! i was like i beg your pardon? contest? when did that happen? winners were announced, and much to my ammusement, the winners were...house bunnies! the crowd went wild. i went home. solemly promising, i will go again next time, to see what is goin to happen......differently...
